Close to 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

During the peak on Sunday, more than 28k electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across various areas of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
